I need to tell you something. I am uber particular about where I choose to eat. My grandson and I attended the Phoenix Symphony and had reservations at the Compass. I was remiss in checking out the menu beforehand - opting for the pleasure of rotating on top of the Sheraton and seeing Phoenix from various viewpoints. However, upon being led to our seat - I did not find the view I was hoping for (being blocked by small tables). Additionally, they attempted to seat us at a table with partial views of the city in the middle of the restaurant (wherein I had requested a window seat and provided a credit card to hold said seat). The menu was disappointing with not one nouveau type of meal offered. I thanked them and left to the chagrin of my grandson. We walked a few blocks looking in and out of various restaurants until we happened upon Rosso's Italian. I have standards. The restaurant was quaint when you got into the dining room, passing the well stocked bar. I saw a variety of wines that looked interesting. I asked for a sip of an Italian wine I had tasted the last time I was in Italy. Delioso! I ordered a glass. I noted "handmade pasta dishes" on the menu and thought "yeah sure". But I was assured that the pasta dishes were done every day fresh! Ok, out came the enteees. Are you kidding? I had the best gnocchi Tirolese I have ever had and my grandson ordered the slow roasted pappardelle short rib entree. Oh my God. So good. Accompanied by my Brunello Montalcino- I couldn't have been more pleased!

Yum! Milanese and a salad to die for. Before I leave here I will be back. Chloe was a doll. She has her opinion and was right. That lemon drop also. Listen ITALIAN EQUALS ROSSO if your in this area. Trust me.

It was my first time at Rosso, I heard great things about this place and it definitely delivered. I love the dimmed lighting and music, it's definitely a date hot spot. The service was great and our waiter made sure we had everything we needed and more. Now, let's talk about the food. Delicious!! Chefs kiss. I would definitely return. I had the, Gnocchi Burrata pasta. I recommend

This was our first visit and we were very happy with our choice. The main entrees were delicious and the tiramisu was the best we have ever had. The service was great. Many of the staff have Italian connections or heritage. Our waiter, Mateo, provided welcome recommendations and quickly met our every need. It was a slow Sunday evening, so even the chef came out to visit. Very friendly and welcoming. We will certainly return and are happy to recommend this restaurant.

On our last day in Phoenix before a 3:30pm flight, we ordered a couple of entrees from Rossi to eat in the hotel room: - short rib pappardelle - roast chicken Everything was packaged well, but kinda annoying they did not include utensils. The short rib pappardelle was really good. Noodles were a touch overcooked but I imagine they continued to cook in the enclosed container after pickup. The short rib "ragu" was delicious as well - super tender, juicy short rib with just a hint of tomato. It was rich and decadent. I would've loved a side of grated parm-reg for this but that wasn't an option. The roast chicken was also delicious, my favorite of the two. Although a bit overcooked and dry in places, overall it was pretty juicy, especially the dark meat. The mushrooms and "gravy" were also incredibly tasty, especially poured over the polenta, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely stop in for sit down!

Honestly they have some really good Italian food but the price is definitely on the pricier side. I tend to go to another local pizzeria a bit farther and it has better pizza for cheaper but I do understand it's across from the suns stadium so prices tend to be higher. The food is good and the staff is really nice, it's a pretty mellow environment. It's also extremely clean and nice inside. I'd recommend if you're visiting downtown and want something good before a game or concert but I wouldn't recommend if you're a local definitely better stuff in the area.

Came for a birthday dinner, very delicious! Nothing special or anything for the birthday girl. Pastas were delicious! Flour is imported from Italy, for the gluten sensitive girlies this is the place for you. Also has gluten free pasta and pizza. The whipped Our server was so sweet! A busser took the plate of caprese without asking and we were not done with it. Server was amazing and came back from the kitchen with a fresh plate. Not necessary but we appreciated it and of course ate it all! Delicious caprese with the best pesto. Cacio a pepe (not photographed) was very black pepper heavy but so delicious. The pepper bite was yummy and different. Would go back!!
